Job Summary: Work independently while also functioning collaboratively as a member of a care team including medical providers, mental health counselors, peers and community partners as needed, in order to provide outstanding counselling services to IOP patients.
Location: Building M, 12612 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97233

Responsibilities:
Conducting ASAM assessments,
treatment planning,
individual and group counseling,
case management/coordination of care,
referrals as needed and documentation of treatment progress,
all of the above performed at the IOP level of care.
Education and Experience:
CADC I or higher required. Working towards or completion of CADCII preferred.
Two years of experience as a CADC highly preferred.
Knowledge of trauma informed care/practices.
Knowledge and experience facilitating group therapy.
Knowledge of evidenced-based counseling theories and practices (MI, DBT, ACT, CBT etc.)
Essential skills and abilities:
Ability to work in-office on a consistent basis.
Able to work as a productive team member, as well as independently.
Critical thinking/problem solving.
Time management.
Adaptability.
Emotional Intelligence.
Microsoft Office (preferred).
Zoom/Telehealth proficiencies.

Recovery Works NW is also a state-Download Applicationcertified DUII Services Provider and this CADC position will require providing some services for DUII program participants.

POSITION SUMMARY
Certified Peers support the social, economic, and behavioral health needs of vulnerable populations within Recovery Works NW and the communities we serve. The incumbent works with individuals and groups to promote optimum health, encourage quality of life and support individuals in their choice to recover from SUD and mental health obstacles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Shares lived experiences to create trusted bonds with individuals and inspire hope that recovery is possible.
• Works to identify goals and enable members to achieve those goals by recognizing local community assets, vetting their services, and making these resources accessible to members and providers.
• Acts as point of contact for patients and families. May assume advocate role on the patient’s behalf to ensure approval of the necessary services or accessibility of needed resource(s) for the member in a timely fashion.
• Addresses social, economic, and behavioral health needs of members receiving services. Communicates all care and coordination activity, risks, and care plan using standard documentation, information technology, and care coordination tools in the electronic medical record.
• Facilitates collaborative relationships with individuals and clinical staff.
• Applies person-centered approaches to address goals and multiple recovery pathways.
• Submits all patients encounter documentation and responds to billing and all department inquiries within 3 days of encounter.
• Maintains required license and compliance with relevant Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR).
• Compiles and updates an accessible list of applicable resources for staff and clients.
• Makes connections with local organizations for collaboration and coordination.
• Creates and fosters referral pathways to local resources.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Attends external and internal BHRN meetings.
• Works with Director of Engagement and outreach team to support all BHRN participants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
• Current PSS, PWS and/or CRM certification
• Inclusion in Oregon Traditional Health Worker (THW) Registry, active National Provider Identification (NPI) number and active Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP) number or in process
• Lived experience with mental health struggles, substance use, and/or medication-assisted treatment
• Competent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn other programs
• Ability to build and maintain therapeutic relationships
• Valid Oregon Driver’s License and the ability to be insured
• Eager to engage, outgoing attitude, openness to learning new skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. Work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
Work Structure
This is an hourly full-time, in-person and community position based on 35-40 hours/week with a schedule set by Peer Services Manager.
